Screeny overview

Screeny gives you the freedom to capture your videos or images at any size. You can click & drag to resize the capture area or input the exact pixel dimensions to set to the size of the capture area. All the while you will get instant feedback on the capture area's current pixel dimensions.

Screen casting just got a billion times better with Screeny. Now you can capture a specific portion of your screen, rather than having to record your entire desktop. This can drastically reduce video file size and bring focus to a specific portion of your screen.

Promising but crashes instantly whenever I click on the Menu Item icon to stop screen recording. Needs work.

Actually It's not bad for a free software, I give it 4 stars, it works and works fine on my Mac. the FPS is high, no obvious lag, the resolution is native (same as your screen's) and yeah, I got it for limited time free. The drawback is, you cannot change the path of the saved files, you either drag it to dropbox or let it sync with cloud app or droplr if you want to put the recording footages on the cloud. and you know, the footage will easily over 100mb but cloud or droplr only offers 23mb per file/ And it cannot activate iSight camera which makes it less useful.

Not bad when it worked. Unfortunately it's been broken since October at least on Mountain Lion. Several posts on this on their own support site but still no fix or word from dev so beginning to look like abandon ware. Which is a shame as it certainly had plenty of potential.

I already on a license for version 1. How do I upgrade? It seems like the app has been made AppStore only, so the developer wants to charge me $15 again?
